A great opportunity for someone who is looking to start their career in social media, whether that’s their first job out of university, or for someone who has work experience doing something similar – but you will be given the autonomy to lead our social media efforts.
As a key member of the KBB editorial team, you’ll be at the forefront of our social media channels, working closely with the broader team to produce engaging, inspiring, and brand-defining native content that truly resonates with our audience.
We’re seeking a social media enthusiast and content-driven Social Media Executive to spearhead our brand’s content creation, with a focus on building brand recognition and driving traffic to our website. Reporting to and collaborating with our editor and our website content editor, you will be responsible for developing and delivering impactful content across all social channels.
You should be a creative thinker with strong communication skills, confident on camera, adept at content creation, and always in tune with the latest algorithm updates, and social and cultural trends. You should also have excellent spelling and grammar.
Objectives of this role
- You will be responsible for creating, editing and uploading all social content which includes video and stills that aligns with the brand’s voice and goals, ensuring high engagement and consistency across all channels.
- Actively contribute to the development of the social media content strategy, while also challenging existing ideas and providing input for continuous improvement.
- Work closely with the editorial and design team to establish and maintain a strong, assertive brand presence across all social media platforms.
- You will also be required to work with the commercial team on creating social packages for them to sell.
- Ensure that all social media content and strategies are informed by thorough competitor research and deep customer insights, keeping our output relevant and impactful.
- Regularly analyse the performance of our social media platforms and content, making data-driven adjustments to optimise reach, engagement, and effectiveness, providing insights on performance.
- Be proactive in exploring and adopting new and emerging social media platforms, updates, and content formats. Encourage early adoption and first-use strategies where appropriate to maintain a competitive edge.
- Actively support and drive our company’s culture by integrating Diversity, Equity & Inclusion strategies into social media content and campaigns, ensuring our brand reflects these core values.
About You
- An enthusiastic team player with a genuine obsession for social media and content, committed to exploring new trends, reactive to algorithm changes.
- Experience creating social media content for a brand/brands.
- Impeccable organisation skills and the ability to keep multiple projects moving and ensure deadlines are met.
- Ability to act as an ambassador for the KBB brand at events, with clients, on shoots etc…
- Strong numerical know-how for reporting and analysing stats and reacting to these.
- Copywriting experience with a focus on storytelling whilst understanding tone of voice.
- An interest in home interiors, trends, and relevant pop culture.
- Excellent spelling and grammar.
Required skills and qualifications
- University graduate with a degree in communications, journalism, public relations, digital marketing or a related field.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with problem-solving acumen.
- Expertise in social media platforms (like Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Pinterest and Threads).
- Knowledge of digital marketing tools (like Google Analytics, Canva, Cap Cut, and Adobe Creative Suite).
- Knowledge of social media management tools (like Later and Hootsuite).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong attention to detail with time-management and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks with ease.
